René has over thirty years’ experience as an HR Leader and Change Agent with General Electric and GE Capital. He has also been involved with several key GE customers and suppliers.
Joining the ranks of GE as an Assistant HR Manager in a unionized manufacturing facility, René gradually worked his way to the position of SR VP of HR for GE Capital Canada.
During the course of his career, René had an opportunity to run HR departments and to negotiate Collective Agreements in French and English in Quebec and Ontario. He also played a key role in helping GE Capital become a major player on the Canadian mid-market financing scene through acquisitions but even more so by accelerating its organic growth in all 10 Provinces.
René was at the forefront of the Change Management culture shift at GE. He has led and facilitated several Work-Out and Change Acceleration Process initiatives as well as Lean and Six-Sigma workshops at various GE and GE Capital venues but also at the site of key GE customers and suppliers, as a part of the ‘At the Customer, for the customer’’ program.
Since leaving GE, René has helped several clients looking to improve the efficiency of their HR resources individually or as a team. He has also been involved in several Change Management initiatives where the focus was not on the HR dimension but more directly tied to the end-result pursued by the Business.
René is a graduate of Laval University in Industrial Relations. He is involved with local continuous improvement associations and regularly delivers lectures live or through video at HEC Montreal and at the Professional Order of HR Professionals in Montreal.
